Wormhole has successfully completed the integration of World ID with the Solana blockchain, according to a recent update from Worldcoin. With this integration, developers on Solana can now build applications that leverage World ID’s privacy-focused authentication system. World ID, which operates on Worldcoin's Layer 2 Ethereum chain, World Chain, provides a secure method for logging into DApps without exposing personal data. This advancement is expected to simplify the authentication process for developers while maintaining cross-chain compatibility.

Worldcoin Foundation Support

The achievement follows Wormhole’s grant from the Worldcoin Foundation, awarded in late June. Worldcoin, which is supported by Tools For Humanity, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, aims to offer a privacy-enabled identity verification service. This service requires users to undergo an eyeball scan to validate their identity, ensuring both security and privacy.
