Binance Announces Listing of Hamster Kombat Game Token. What You Need to Know.
The exchange is the latest market leader to announce the start of trading in the token of one of the most popular applications in Telegram.
The world's largest crypto exchange Binance has announced the listing of the HMSTR token of the Hamster Kombat game. Trading on the spot market will begin on September 26 at 15:00 Moscow time. Hamster Kombat has become the 58th project of the Launchpool program on the exchange.
Previously, OKX, Bybit, Bitget and several other second-tier platforms announced the launch of token trading. Many of them launched preliminary token trading on their premarket platforms, but the prices on them do not reflect the price at which the token will begin to be fully traded on the spot market.
Hamster Kombat is a mini-application game in Telegram from the category of so-called "clickers" or "tapaloks", in which you can "earn" in-game coins by simply clicking on a button with a picture of a hamster, and use additional bonuses that are played out as elements of promoting a virtual crypto exchange. Bonuses are also awarded for watching videos of the game on YouTube and for attracting users through a referral system.
The developers claim that the number of users of the application exceeded 300 million in early August. The game's Telegram channel has more than 52 million subscribers. On August 28, the game team announced an airdrop, the launch of the token (token generation event, TGE), and its entry into the exchanges.
According to Binance, the total emission of HMSTR will be 100 billion tokens, 3% of which the exchange will allocate as a reward to participants in the Launchpool program. It involves blocking BNB tokens or FDUSD stablecoins, in proportion to which, over several days before the start of trading, participants will be able to "farm" additional HMSTR tokens. The program starts on September 19.
In July, Pavel Durov called Hamster Kombat an “Internet phenomenon.” He noted that the project had managed to grow its user base to 100 million users in 73 days, and announced that the game’s token would operate on the TON blockchain.
TON developers warned in advance that on the day of the token launch, due to such a large influx of people wishing to receive tokens in their personal wallets, the TON network would undoubtedly face a serious technical load and, probably, unexpected failures.
Experts interviewed by RBC-Crypto advise withdrawing tokens accrued in the game directly to exchanges to avoid delays and network load.
