Golden Finance reported that Polygon Labs announced that it will invest $5 million to purchase server systems based on Fabric's verifiable processing unit (VPU), becoming the first protocol to invest in such chips. Fabric's VPU is the next-generation crypto-native hardware optimized for Web3, designed to accelerate all Polygon-related protocols based on ZK technology, including AggLayer, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon CDK's ZK infrastructure. Fabric plans to deliver beta prototypes of Plonky2 and Polygon Plonky3 accelerated on VPU within 6-12 months.
