According to TechFlow, BNB Chain announced that its Layer 2 solution opBNB has increased its throughput to 10,000 TPS, doubling the previous 5,000 TPS. This performance improvement was achieved by increasing the block gas limit from 100M/s to 200M/s. To achieve this milestone, the opBNB team made a number of optimizations:

  1. Improved the scheduling logic and removed the previous hard time limit of 600ms.

  2. The L1 state prefetch and cache mechanism is introduced to reduce the L1 state retrieval time from more than 200ms to less than 10ms.

  3. Optimize the block production process, including transaction execution caching and concurrent block submission.

These improvements enable opBNB to better support high-performance applications such as trading dApps and blockchain games.
