According to ChainCatcher, The Block reported that the Ethereum-based open source communication platform Status announced a partnership with Consensys-backed Linea to launch a Layer 2 expansion solution. The two parties are collaborating to develop a Layer 2 network called Status Network, which will run in parallel with Linea's zkEVM chain. Cyprien Grau, a core contributor to Status, said: "By launching the Status Network, we aim to build the infrastructure needed to support an ecosystem of decentralized applications and services."
Nicolas Liochon, Global Head of Linea, said: "Our collaboration with Status is a natural progression given Status' contribution to Ethereum core operations and its consumer-facing Status app." Nimbus, the Ethereum consensus client developed by Status, will be transformed into a Linea client. The collaboration will focus on decentralizing Linea's ordering and proof processes and support innovative initiatives in areas such as public financing, social applications, GameFi, and governance experiments.
