Taiwan Digital Trust Association is established! Why promote “digital trust”?
According to a study by a major international information security company, cyber attacks in Taiwan will increase sharply by more than 80% in 2023, with nearly 15,000 information security attacks occurring every second, making Taiwan the number one cyber attack threat in the Asia-Pacific. And according to statistics from the Criminal Bureau, the cumulative amount of fraud losses in 2023 is as high as 8.8 billion yuan, showing that information security or fraud prevention is still a current problem, leading to an atmosphere of "distrust of digital services" permeating public opinion.
Huang Yannan, Minister of Digital Development, pointed out: "In the future, the government will promote the construction of smart fraud prevention and digital trust, use digital tools to enhance the "digital resilience of all people," and strengthen guidance and investment in the digital industry to promote the development of China's AI, software and information security industries. , using AI to achieve the goal of action innovation.”
Zhan Tingyi also mentioned that since the beginning of preparations for the association, it has successively invited lawyers, prosecutors, and scholars who are on the front line of fraud cases to participate, as well as people from information, information security, finance, e-commerce, payment, telecommunications, and blockchain. Domestic and foreign operators in other fields have joined one after another, with a total of more than 50 group and individual members. In the future, the association will act as a bridge for public-private collaboration, become a key puzzle piece of the digital trust blueprint, and connect with international standards.

The Taiwan Digital Trust Association will set up 7 working groups: Data Integrity Group, Digital Trust Assessment Group, Fraud Research Group and AI Technology Fraud Prevention Group, Information Security Technology Group, Education Promotion Group and Blockchain Security Group, each led by Ernst & Young. Consultants, Information Security Council, Gogolook, Aoyi Wisdom, Assistant Professor Cai Wenyi of the Institute of Medical and Biotechnology Law of Taipei Medical University, and blockchain financial institution XREX served as conveners.
It is expected to simultaneously promote the association's concepts and implementation tasks through 7 working groups, jointly research and promote work projects with domestic partners in the field of information security and fraud prevention, and promote cooperation and exchanges between different regions through domestic and foreign exchange activities. . The association will also successively organize activities such as literacy education and fraud prevention forums to enhance public awareness of fraud and information security crimes.
