According to BlockBeats, on July 9, The Block reported that Bitcoin mining company Hut 8 has signed a power purchase agreement to provide 205 megawatts of immediately available power capacity and land at a location in West Texas. The site is adjacent to a wind farm and connected to the ERCOT grid, providing Hut 8 with the lowest cost wholesale electricity in North America.

Hut 8 said the power station is ideally suited to support high-density computing applications, including Bitcoin and artificial intelligence, and data center engineering, procurement and construction work is currently underway.
