TechFlow reported that two Chinese were kidnapped and killed in the Philippines recently. The police of three countries have intervened in the investigation. The victims were a Chinese citizen and an American Chinese named Sun. Both worked in the medical device industry. They lost contact after arriving in the Philippines on June 20 and were found dead on June 24.

The family members said that the kidnappers had demanded 15 million RMB and converted it into USDT virtual currency and transferred it to a designated account. The family members of Sun did not pay, while the family members of another victim, Xia, paid 3 million RMB. The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines said that it was fully assisting the family members and urged the Philippines to arrest the murderer as soon as possible.
