About eCash (XEC)

eCash (XEC) is a cryptocurrency and blockchain network designed to provide peer-to-peer (P2P) payment and electronic cash functionality, as well as interoperability with other blockchain networks. Operating as a rebranded version of Bitcoin Cash ABC — a fork of Bitcoin Cash which is, in turn, a fork of Bitcoin — it also offers anonymized transactions, low transaction costs, and fast transaction validation times.

eCash tokens are divisible into “bits” that are designed to provide a user-friendly alternative to Bitcoin’s multiple decimal place divisibility into Satoshi. A notable difference between Bitcoin Cash and eCash is the integration of a consensus method called Avalanche (no association with the Avalanche blockchain), which functions as an alternative to proof-of-work (PoW).

As such, eCash implements a different consensus than the network from which it was forked and other Bitcoin forks before it. XEC price is updated and available in real time on Binance.

People Also Ask: Other Questions About eCash

  1. What is XEC Used For?

XEC is used as a P2P payment method that supports anonymous transactions. It is also staked by network validators who wish to take part in the blockchain consensus method in exchange for rewards, which are distributed in XEC. XEC price information is available live on Binance.

  2. How Do Network Consensus and Validation Work on eCash?

eCash uses a consensus algorithm called Avalanche, in which network participants stake XEC to participate in transaction validation and network security.

  3. Who is the eCash Founder?

eCash was founded by Bitcoin Cash lead developer Amaury Sechet, who was actively involved in the August 2017 fork from the Bitcoin network. In November 2020, Sechet forked that blockchain to create Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA), the predecessor of eCash prior to its rebranding.

  4. What is the Maximum Token Supply of eCash?

The maximum token supply of eCash is limited to 21 trillion XEC, of which around 19.27 trillion tokens are in circulation at the time of writing.

  5. What Makes eCash Different From Others?

eCash is notable as a Bitcoin fork that operates on Avalanche, its own consensus algorithm. This distinguishes eCash from other Bitcoin forks, which typically employ the PoW consensus model.

eCash’s development scope includes features such as anonymous transactions, a guarantee that transactions will remain “almost free”, and compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) in order to deliver smart contract functionality.
