In the 1990s, the government of my country was inspired by the economic restructuring done in Germany after World War I, intending to redistribute wealth.
It was the biggest failure; the president froze savings accounts, people lost money, saw their businesses collapse, and there were even suicides in the following years.
The creation of a decentralized global economy would prevent this. Today, we still trust banks and governments to take care of our money, and even if they have the best intentions, if they make mistakes, we are the ones who suffer.
