Within a Week, Solana Could Pay Off Ethereum in Transaction Fees: Report Trending
In terms of transaction fees, the Solana network may soon surpass the Ethereum network, which could have a big impact on Solana's reputation as the "Ethereum-killer."
Dan Smith, senior research analyst at Blockworks, stated in a May 7 X post that Solana "will flip Ethereum in transaction fees + captured MEV this month, maybe even this week." Smith suggests that Solana may flip Ethereum's transaction fees as soon as this week.
The term "captured MEV," or maximum extractable value, describes profits that are primarily obtained by trading arbitrage on the protocols. MEV calculates the most value that an individual or group of users can take out of a blockchain.
