On April 12th, Stacks decentralized lending protocol Zest Protocol announced a protocol security update and suspended operations until further notice. User funds will not be affected until the protocol is restarted. On April 11th, Zest Protocol was attacked, and the attacker artificially manipulated the value of collateral by repeating entries in the collateral list, allowing them to withdraw far more STX than their allotted amount in five lending operations. The Zest team immediately froze the contract upon discovering the attack, and stSTX funds were not affected. The attacker stole a total of 324,000 STX, which will be compensated by the Zest treasury.
