On May 22, 2010, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made history by purchasing two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins. At the time, bitcoin was virtually worthless, but this transaction marked the first known commercial transaction using bitcoin. Today, those 10,000 bitcoins would be worth millions of dollars, making it one of the most expensive pizzas ever bought.
