According to U.Today, Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain from the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem, has experienced a remarkable 450% increase in new accounts over the past 24 hours. The number of new accounts surged from 6 to 27, reflecting growing interest in the network. Additionally, the total number of active accounts rose by 23%, from 489 to 602.

This surge in new users coincided with an increase in transaction fees paid using BONE, Shiba Inu's native token. Transaction fees increased from 19.31 BONE to 40.14 BONE. BONE is used as a gas fee for transactions in Shibarium, and a portion of each fee is converted to SHIB and burned, reducing the overall supply and making it deflationary.

Amid the influx of new accounts and higher transaction amounts, the network saw an increase in transaction activity. The number of daily transactions soared to 4,319, a 35.6% increase from the previous day. New users may be joining to explore the platform or to hold BONE and SHIB tokens, thereby boosting the network overall. The renewed interest in Shibarium is likely due to the recent price action of Shiba Inu tokens.
