According to Odaily, the IoTeX community has approved a proposal, known as IIP-30, to deploy the native USDC on the IoTeX mainnet. The proposal was voted on and passed on May 24. The proposal suggests deploying Circle's US dollar stablecoin on IoTeX using the recommended USDC.e code from Circle.

The proposal also aims to achieve interoperability between USDC.e and ioUSDC, allowing users to seamlessly convert between ioUSDC and USDC.e. Additionally, the proposal suggests upgrading the super cross-chain bridge ioTube to support cross-chain conversions between USDC on Ethereum and USDC.e, replacing the current support for USDC and ioUSDC on Ethereum.

The approval of the IIP-30 proposal will extend Circle's native USDC to the IoTeX chain and the billion-dollar DePIN ecosystem. This move will also enhance the security and standardization on the IoTeX chain, aiding the development of on-chain DeFi. It also prepares for the scaled development of on-chain AI and the DePIN ecosystem after the launch of IoTeX 2.0.
