Respawn Entertainment has just unveiled new details for the upcoming ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) Split 2 Playoffs. The event, which will take place at SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany, will not only be centered on high-level Apex Legends matches but also organized to engage fans directly through a range of activities.

This year’s Split 2 Playoffs will commence on August 29th, bringing together some of the best teams in the world for four days of unadulterated action.

Also, apart from the high-stakes matches, there will be a fan-focused Tailgate event where attendees can interact with players and participate in other activities taking place at the venue. Some of these include meeting their favorite players, playing Straight Shot mode battles against them, or even participating in an arena-wide Nessie scavenger hunt. Also, top streamers and personalities from Apex Legends will vie for supremacy during the live Creator Showdown.

ALGS teams lock in strategies as fans join the action

Starting Split 2 Playoffs will include a live draft on POIs (Points of Interest) where teams will compete and choose landing spots for their upcoming matches. This adds an extra layer of strategy to the game even before it starts, setting the stage for what is going to be a heated contest ahead. The tournament’s main events will commence after this draft with battles between DarkZero and Team Falcons against other competitive teams, including Reject Winnity and Alliance, to win.

However, it is not just about playing games. There is also a pre-match Tailgate event that offers players a chance to mingle with their fans in a less formal environment. During this time, there will be chances for meet-and-greets as well as photo ops that could include getting onto the battlefield alongside one’s favorite professional gamers. Furthermore, Straight Shot mode returns by popular demand, which will enable streamers and personalities to show off their skills during the Creator Showdown.

For the fans who will be attending first-hand, Respawn Entertainment has organized several interactive events beyond the main stage. Arcade-like games such as claw machines, sponsor booths, and a site-wide hunt for Nessie throughout the whole day are among the things that will keep everyone occupied. Other than that, there would be merchandise stalls where one can purchase articles about Apex Legends, photo booths, and fan art displays, making the event an all-out celebration for the community.
