According to Odaily, X, the company owned by Elon Musk, announced on Saturday that it will shut down its operations in Brazil while continuing to provide services in the country. The global government affairs department of X stated in a post that Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes threatened to arrest their legal representative in Brazil if they did not comply with his censorship order. The company shared the order to expose his actions, which they described as based on a secret mandate. A spokesperson for Brazil's Federal Supreme Court declined to comment on the matter. Musk mentioned in another post that the decision to close the Brazil office was 'difficult.' The scale of X's operations in Brazil remains unclear. Data from Sensor Tower indicates that as of the first quarter, the platform had approximately 20 million active users in Brazil, a decrease of about 15% compared to the same period last year.
