According to PANews, Elon Musk's xAI company has introduced the capability for its Grok AI model to generate images on the X social network. Currently, access to Grok is limited to Premium and Premium+ users on the platform. An example image with a text prompt indicates that Grok is utilizing Black Forest Labs' FLUX.1 to create these images. Additionally, Premium users have been granted beta access to Grok 2 mini. Earlier this week, Musk announced that the beta version of Grok 2 would be released soon.

On the Grok page within the X platform, a floating button displays the message 'Grok 2.0 Released,' accompanied by a link to the release page. However, the Grok 2.0 page on the xAI website still states 'Coming Soon, watch cat videos while we prepare this page.' It remains unclear whether Grok 2.0 has indeed been released.

Details about the functionalities of Grok 2 are currently scarce. Application researcher Nima Owji claims that Grok 2 performs better in code generation, writing, and news-related tasks. It is noteworthy that the first version of Grok had multiple errors in news summarization. Additionally, it is not yet known if the images generated by Grok contain any metadata indicating they are AI-generated.
