The last time this happened was in 2007 right before America went into a recession. đ

Because of zero interest rate, Japanese were borrowing yen to invest in other markets like US equities, crypto etc.
Now with the interest rate hike, it wasnât free money that was borrowed.
This is causing investors to sell their assets and return to the yen.
