Cryptocurrency projects #Optimism , #Aptos , and #ApeCoin are set to unlock significant token amounts this month, with a total value of over $100 million.

According to Token Unlocks, ApeCoin, the governance token of ApeCoin DAO associated with the NFT community Bored Ape Yacht Club, will see the largest unlock. ApeCoin will release 40.6 million APE tokens on September 17th, accounting for 11% of the total circulating supply and totaling $58.1 million. Most of the unlocked tokens ($38 million) will go to project launch participants: $10.5 million to the treasury, $6 million to Yuga Labs (the developer), and $3.2 million to its founder, with the remaining $397,000 going to charity.

After the release of 15.6 million APE tokens ($22.3 million) during the last unlock in August, the APE price dropped by roughly 16% from $1.80 to $1.51 USD. It is currently trading at around $1.43 USD.

Optimism and Aptos are unlocking tokens worth $59 million. On September 30th, Ethereum Layer 2 Optimism (OP Mainnet) will release 24.2 million OP tokens, accounting for 3% of its circulating supply and worth $33.3 million. Approximately $17.6 million will go to major stakeholders, with $15.7 million allocated to investors.

The OP token is trading 12% lower at $1.37 since the last unlock on August 30th, which released the same number of tokens. In late May, the OP circulating supply more than doubled, and the token's price fell by 25% before rebounding.

Layer 1 blockchain Aptos rounds out the trio, releasing 4.5 million tokens on September 12th, equivalent to 2% of its circulating supply and worth $25.2 million. Approximately $17.8 million will be allocated for the community, with $7.4 million going to the Aptos Fund.

In August, Aptos also released 4.5 million tokens, causing the APT token price to drop by 23% from $7.20 to $5.51 USD. Currently, APT is trading at around $5.54 USD.

In total, token releases worth over $175 million are planned for September. Other notable unlocks this month include #Sui ($17.4 million), #dYdX ($14 million), and ImmutableX ($10.2 million).
