With this recent move, Germany now holds about 38,621 BTC (decrease of 12% from June). But what's the reason behind this dump? Why German government keep selling?
It is selling mainly because those BTCs were seized during criminal investigations and asset forfeiture operations. Also, keep on mind that liquidating seized assets is a common practice in order to avoid on holding volatile assets that could decrease in value. Governments often liquidate such assets to convert them into cash, so they can be used for various purposes, such as funding law enforcement activities or supporting public programs.
