According to Geth team developer, the 178th “#Ethereum Core Developers Execution” meeting has concluded. 👀

The Cancun upgrade on the Goerli testnet for January 17, with tentative dates of January 30 and February 7 for the Sepolia and Holesky testnet upgrades respectively.

У сети Эфириума есть предел газа на блок, который ограничивает максимальную комиссию за транзакции в каждом блоке и, соответственно, количество обрабатываемых транзакций в блоке. Виталик Бутерин считает, что пришла пора снова увеличить лимит газа в блоках Эфириума. Сейчас показатель составляет 30 млн газа, а Бутерин предлагает увеличить его до 40 млн газа, то есть, на 33%.

При запуске сети Эфириума предел газа на блок составлял всего 3 млн, однако ограничение поднимали несколько раз. Последнее повышение предела состоялось почти 3 года назад.

Увеличение предела газа позволит увеличить количество транзакций в каждом блоке и, соответственно, пропускную способность сети Эфириума. Однако, это также увеличивает нагрузку на оборудование и сети передачи данных.

В конце прошлого года Виталик Бутерин предложил несколько вариантов по упрощению алгоритма консенсуса Эфириума.
