The National Consumer Service (Sernac), known for its work in defending consumers in Chile, has intensified its surveillance of Worldcoin, the company that recently announced its name change to World.
Sernac's concern is growing after it was revealed that World is in talks with Rappi to implement an "at-home" eye scanning service. Given this situation, Sernac has requested a precautionary measure to suspend the company's operations in Chile, arguing that "the multinational could be violating the limits on the protection and use of personal data."
Currently, Chile represents 11% of all eye data collected by Tools For Humanity, World's parent company. According to data cited by La Segunda, more than 760 thousand irises have been scanned in the country, which has generated concern in various sectors regarding the handling of this information. #worldocin #Worldcoins $WLD
