UPDATE ON BOT SITUATION

Today, some users of Banana Gun experienced unauthorized transfers from their wallets. Promptly after the first incident, we immediately switched off the bot and began diligently checking our back-end.

We have confirmed that our back-end is not compromised. Both the router and database have been thoroughly inspected, and only a very small number of users (fewer than 10) were affected. Additionally, the transfers appear to have been executed manually.

This leads us to believe the issue may stem from a front-end vulnerability.

As we prioritize security, we will keep our bot offline while we investigate the root cause. The amount of support we've received, particularly from our partners, has been truly heartwarming. If you have any insights that may help us, feel free to send us a direct message here on Twitter.

The market has not been easy, but Banana's market share has been growing incredibly.

In markets where the bot is active (ETH, SOL, Base, and Blast), Banana Gun has managed to reach a market share of 43.5% (!) among Telegram bots.

The situation regarding the founder of Telegram has raised some questions in our chats and how this affects Banana Gun. It's important to note that our bot is safe to use.

We want to reassure you that Banana Gun is much more than just a Telegram bot. In fact, Banana Gun constitutes rather a completely custom back-end. While this back-end currently powers our Telegram front-end, it will soon be the engine behind many other front-ends.

For example, we are developing an API that can be integrated by third parties, as well as a webapp that is now in its final stages.

Our vision for Banana Gun led us to rework our entire back-end in the first half of 2024, transforming it into a modular and flexible trading tool. We are more confident than ever that this investment will pay off tremendously.
