The European Central Bank (ECB) is expanding its distributed ledger technology (DLT) testing from April. The second phase will test new use cases with the participation of private financial institutions and three additional central banks. 🏦
48 financial institutions will participate in the new phase, including major banks such as ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas, Bank of New York Mellon, HSBC, J.P. Morgan and Société Générale.
The tests will focus on the interaction between DLT transaction compatibility and the ECB's existing TARGET settlement system.
The results of the test could be applied to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
Let's discuss the potential of DLT and CBDCs in the future of finance in the comments!#cryptonews#ECB#DLT#CBDC
