A MakerDAO governance delegate has fallen victim to a phishing scam, losing $11 million in Aave Ethereum (aEthMK) and Pendle USDe tokens. The scam was detected by Scam Sniffer on June 23. The delegate, who plays a crucial role in the MakerDAO system, was tricked into signing multiple phishing signatures, leading to the loss of their digital assets. This incident highlights the growing trend of "approval phishing" in the crypto space, where victims are duped into signing transactions that grant scammers access to their wallets. In 2023 alone, phishing scams drained $300 million from 320,000 users.
