According to TChainCatcher, Taiko announced on the X platform that it will upgrade the Taiko BCR mainnet protocol to version 1.7.0 on July 1. This version is compatible with the current Taiko-geth and client version ABI, but includes underlying protocol changes that affect block proposers and provers. The main updates include:
1. The designated certifier of the block must also be the proposer;
2. The block prover needs to verify whether the stateRoot of the existing transition is zero. If so, the protocol will only compare the blockHash to determine whether another transition is a dispute;
3. Reduce the validity and dispute guarantees of liveness guarantees and SGX proofs by 50%;
4. Gas optimization;
5. The Hekla testnet protocol has been upgraded, which may cause some block proposals and proof transactions to fail. It is recommended that all Hekla block proposers and provers update their transaction parameters as soon as possible.
