The #NEAR Foundation announced the selection of six teams under the NEAR Horizon AI Incubation Program, which aims to build a user-owned AI ecosystem. This program reflects the organization's strategic vision towards promoting an innovative technical environment based on cooperation and community participation. The teams selected for this program are diverse in their fields and seek to achieve tangible progress in the field of artificial intelligence:

1. Mizu: It is developing an open data layer, which aims to facilitate cooperation between artificial intelligence developers by providing a participatory and transparent data environment, which enhances the quality of applications and research in this field.

2. Pond: It seeks to use graphical neural networks to develop basic cryptographic models that help analyze on-chain data and predict future behavior, enabling it to anticipate challenges and provide innovative solutions.

3. Nevermined: It has developed a payment infrastructure dedicated to AI-related businesses, making it easier for developers to carry out business transactions quickly and smoothly, thus improving the experience of users and developers alike.

4. Hyperbolic: Offers an open AI cloud, including a marketplace for GPUs and AI inference services, making it easier for companies and developers to access the tools and resources needed to implement their projects effectively.

5. Ringfence: It allows artists and creators to monetize their work while maintaining secure ownership of their work, similar to DALLE-3 but within a Web3 environment, ensuring that creators benefit directly from their work.

6. Exabits: Provides computing using graphics processing units in data centers, providing the infrastructure necessary to train AI models, perform inference operations, and tune models very efficiently.

The selection of these teams is a major step towards realizing the NEAR Foundation’s vision of fostering a user-managed AI infrastructure, contributing to building a technological future based on knowledge sharing and community collaboration in developing innovative and effective AI solutions.
