VanEck to launch bitcoin spot ETF on ASX
The ASX (Australian Stock Exchange), which accounts for around 80% of the country's share trading, has approved its first bitcoin spot price ETF.
The VanEck ETF will launch on June 20, according to a post on the asset manager's website.
VanEck has been working on bringing a spot bitcoin ETF to the ASX since 2021.
VanEck's ETF launch will be the third in Australia, following Global X/21Shares and Monochrome Asset Management, which already have bitcoin ETFs on rival exchange Cboe.
This launch is a significant step in the evolution and broader acceptance of bitcoin in Australia and could encourage other ETF issuers to follow suit.
