What are airdrops?
Airdrops refer to the distribution of free tokens to your wallet(s) to interact with certain projects and protocols within a given time period.
Projects and protocols may airdrop for a variety of reasons, such as:
Promotional campaigns: Teams can use airdrops to raise awareness about their specific protocol or project. By giving away tokens, your goal is to attract more users and increase community participation.
Community Rewards: Some protocols/projects issue tokens as a reward for your support, participation and/or loyalty.
Forking initiatives: When a blockchain undergoes a fork, resulting in the creation of a new blockchain and a new cryptocurrency, holders of the original token can receive the new one as part of an airdrop.
Vampire attacks: In addition to blockchains, individual projects and protocols can also be forked. In order to gain the user base of the current project/protocol, the forked protocol can perform a vampire attack. In this scenario, the forked project airdrops tokens to users of the current project/protocol in order to incentivize them to switch services.#AirdropGuide #solana #Bitcoin $BTC
