There has been widespread speculation about Nakamoto's true identity, with various people posited as the person or persons behind the name. Though Nakamoto's name is Japanese, and inscribed as a man living in Japan,[8] most of the speculation has involved software and cryptography experts in the United States or Europe.

Satoshi has thousands of different Bitcoin wallets, with some estimates saying that he has more than 20,000 different wallets. Satoshi used a new wallet to receive a reward for every block he mined, which is why he has so many different wallets.

There’s also the question of what would happen to the million-plus Bitcoins in Satoshi’s wallets. The most likely answer by far is nothing, but it’s also not out of the question that Satoshi presumably has loved ones and wants to provide them security.
