[Iggy Azalea and Vitalik Buterin’s feud escalates]

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has escalated her feud with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, seemingly accusing him of pocketing transaction fees:

"I don't care what the guy's opinion is, whatever. I question what you're doing with transaction fees. You have a problem with charities and hospitals, whatever...but let's talk about transaction fees...this transaction tax."

The controversial influencer’s bizarre comments sparked a lot of ridicule within the cryptocurrency community after they went viral on the X social media network, formerly known as Twitter. Many Ethereum enthusiasts were surprised by Azalea’s lack of basic knowledge of how transaction fees work on the Ethereum blockchain.

Meanwhile, Cinneamhain Ventures partner Adam Cochran claimed that Azalea’s recent comments actually represent market challenges for the crypto industry. "Iggy believes that Vitalik charges transaction fees, which represents a market challenge for cryptocurrency. This is why I think Layer 2 is the only way to reach mass consumer adoption. Just like most consumers do not understand the Internet, they rely on ISPs Manage connectivity," he said in a social media tweet.

Azalea, who achieved mainstream success in 2014 with multiple chart-topping songs, launched her Mother Iggy (IGGY) token in late May, which surged more than 1,000% in a week, thrusting her back into the public eye. She later mocked Buterin on her social media profile, creating a meme that sparked some concern within the community after Buterin poured cold water on her meme coins.

Azalea doesn't seem ready to put the matter to rest just yet. "Maybe some people shouldn't have opinions sometimes, but I respect you for doing certain things, don't get me wrong," Azalea added during a recent podcast appearance.
