The analyst believes that Ethereum Spot ETFs could trigger an “altcoin season” when they begin trading. He predicts the altcoin season will begin at the end of June as Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas has predicted these Ethereum ETFs will begin trading around that time.
Van de Poppe also revealed that he has prepared everything for altcoin season by converting all the Bitcoin he owns to altcoins.
Accordingly, he also provided some information about altcoins in his investment portfolio. The tokens he listed include Chainlink (LINK), Celestia (TIA), Arbitrum (ARB), Polkadot (DOT), and Cosmos (ATOM), among others.
Meanwhile, Blockchain Center has an altcoin season index to evaluate whether it is altcoin season or not. Based on this index, only when 75% of the top 50 coins by market capitalization outperform Bitcoin over 90 days is it considered “altcoin season.” There are currently only 12 altcoins outperforming Bitcoin during this period, which means it is still “Bitcoin season.”
