Xai Foundation and Outlier Ventures are collaborating to help game creators enter the blockchain world.

Xai Foundation, a core contributor to Xai, an Ethereum-based third-layer gaming network built on Arbitrum, announced Wednesday that it has partnered with venture capital firm Outlier Ventures to help more traditional or “Web2” developers enter the space.

Xai Tokenomics Bootcamp aims to simplify the development process of new blockchain games and help support the transformation of existing Web2 games to a model that works well with crypto infrastructure. Developers can take advantage of Outlier Ventures' expertise in game asset ownership, token utilization, player rewards, and enhanced security.

According to the companies, two games have already completed the soft launch phase of Camp, including Lost Glitch, a card battle game that previously launched NFTs on rival ethereum scaling network Immutable X and recently announced it would migrate to Xai. Another game has yet to be announced.

“One of the problems with building Web3 games is that most developers come from Web2 roots and have little understanding of how to implement games on-chain," said Tobias Barton, founder and CEO of Ex Populus, one of the core teams backing Xai. “Thanks to our incredible partnership with Outlier Ventures, our Tokenomics Bootcamp can now provide developers new to the space with the tools they need to build the next generation of games.”

Xai launched earlier this year with a massive token airdrop to network supporters and early NFT holders, and has since attracted a slew of games that plan to launch on the network in the coming months.

These include Crypto Unicorns and BattlePlan, which migrated from other chains, and The Media Indie Exchange (The MIX), a company that works with independent game developers, said it plans to launch more than 100 games on Xai by the end of the year, including new games and converted Web2 games.

“Xai is at the forefront of Web3 gaming, and we’ve been impressed by their growth in the space over the past few months,” said Dimitrios Tsatzianagos, Head of Investments and Cryptoeconomics at Outlier Ventures. “We’re excited to work with Xai to support both Web2 developers who want to start building the Web3 games of the future, as well as experienced Web3 game developers.”
