According to ChainCatcher, cryptocurrency scammers recently hijacked the official account of Microsoft India X, which has more than 211,000 followers, impersonating Roaring Kitty (Meme stock trader Keith Gill).

Microsoft India's X account was marked with a gold V, indicating that it had been officially verified, which added credibility to the fraudulent posts. The hijacked account was used to reply to tweets, directing followers and other users to a malicious website that falsely claimed to offer a pre-sale of the Gamestop (GME) cryptocurrency. The phishing site was designed to steal the assets of anyone who connected a cryptocurrency wallet and authorized a transaction. In addition, many bot accounts retweeted the hijacked posts, expanding the reach and attracting more victims.
