Musk shifts AI chip resources

A large number of AI chip resources are shifted to X and xAI

Instead of Tesla.

As the application of artificial intelligence continues to increase, Elon Musk may shift his attention from Tesla.

A large number of AI chips are shifted to X company instead of car companies.

Although the two parties have not yet commented on the matter, the decision contradicts Tesla's past plans.

Musk has authorized GPU manufacturing giant Nvidia to send AI chips to his companies xAI and X before Tesla.

Is Tesla losing its advantage? Or is this a strategic move to meet the growing demand for AI-related technologies?

Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI and X, formerly known as Twitter, a social media platform advocating free speech, are both beneficiaries of the transfer of AI chip resources. The resource transfer has aroused strong interest and speculation in the market.

In addition, a senior Nvidia employee recently said in an email that Musk exaggerated Tesla's chip purchases to shareholders.

The letter from Nvidia employees also said Musk shifted a large number of AI processors pre-ordered for Tesla to the X platform, which has the generative AI chatbot Grok launched by Elon Musk's xAI.

Musk noted in an April X post that "Tesla will invest approximately $10 billion in training and inference AI this year, the latter mainly in cars." The decision to shift resources contradicts this statement.

However, a December memo from Nvidia stated that Musk shifted shipments of 12,000 H100 GPUs from Tesla to X, giving priority to X. "In exchange, X orders for 12,000 H100s originally scheduled for shipment in January and June will be transferred to Tesla."

The emergence of these records makes the artificial intelligence development plans of Musk's multiple companies mysterious.
