$WAVES $OMG $XEM

Why did Binance delist XEM, OMG, WAVES, and WXNM tokens?

It’s a heavy heart when you find out your tokens have been delisted by Binance. Recently, Binance announced that it will delist NEM (XEM), OMG Network (OMG), Waves (WAVES), and WXNM tokens from June 18, 2024. From then on, Binance will no longer accept deposits for these tokens, but withdrawals will continue until September 17, 2024.

For cryptocurrencies, being listed on a major exchange like Binance is undoubtedly a huge honor, but once delisted, their value tends to plummet quickly and the likelihood of recovery is extremely low.

So why did Binance delist these four tokens?

The main reasons include insufficient trading volume, low project quality or commitment, and network stability issues. But in addition to this, there are usually other factors, such as poor communication between project developers and exchanges, which may also be key factors leading to delisting.

For $OMG, the original team has withdrawn, making the token completely managed by the holders. This undoubtedly increases the risk for holders and reduces the stability of the project.

The delisting of $WAVES is because the token failed to meet the "high standards and industry requirements" set by Binance.

Since $WXNM was included in the watch list by Binance on April 3, 2024, Binance still decided to delist it despite its price rising from 66 USDT to 80 USDT. The specific reasons behind this decision are unclear.

As an old token in 2017, $XEM was once a popular trading variety in the market. However, according to Coinmarket data, it is currently mainly traded on Upbit Exchange (the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea). On the official account of NEMOfficial X, the comment area has been locked, reflecting that the XEM team does not seem to be willing to communicate openly with holders.

The delisting of these tokens has undoubtedly brought great distress and losses to their holders, but it also reminds us that we need to be more cautious and rational when investing in digital currencies.
