In its exclusive report, the firm highlighted the important impact Bitcoin could have on the 2024 elections.

According to a recent Harris Poll, more and more potential American voters are beginning to pay attention to and consider Bitcoin as an investment option due to the impact of geopolitical tensions and inflation.

The survey, funded by Bitcoin ETF issuer Grayscale, showed that one in three American voters will evaluate political candidates' attitudes towards cryptocurrencies before voting.

Voter interest in crypto surges

The survey, which collected responses from more than 1,700 likely U.S. voters, found that 77% of respondents believe that U.S. presidential candidates should at least have an "informed view" on cryptocurrencies.

The survey results showed that influenced by geopolitical tensions, inflation and the depreciation of the US dollar, 41% of likely voters said they are now paying closer attention to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency assets. This figure is up from 34% in November 2023.

In addition, 47% of respondents said they expect to include cryptocurrencies in their portfolios, up from 40% the previous year. Inflation continues to be the top concern of voters, accounting for 28%, further enhancing the appeal of assets such as Bitcoin, mainly because Bitcoin has a clear and transparent supply cap and a fixed total amount.

For example, the approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States in January 2024 and the Bitcoin halving event in April of the same year were both key events that significantly increased voters’ interest in investing in Bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto assets. , 18% and 20% of voters respectively said they were more interested in these investments.

It is worth noting that 9% of retired voters expressed great interest in investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency assets after the Bitcoin ETF was approved. $BTC

Voters call for clear cryptocurrency regulations

Grayscale highlighted BTC’s strong performance in 2024, especially after reaching its all-time high on March 13. This trend has led to speculation that the next election may be named the “Bitcoin Election.” Public interest is not limited to Bitcoin itself, but has expanded to the broader cryptocurrency asset class. About a third of voters (32%) said that their willingness to learn about and invest in cryptocurrencies has increased since the beginning of the year.

The survey also showed that more and more voters are beginning to see cryptocurrency as a potential long-term investment channel, with 23% of respondents agreeing with this view, up from 19% in November 2023. In addition, clearer regulatory policies may further increase the appeal of cryptocurrency to voters. Specifically, 52% of voters said they would be more willing to invest in cryptocurrency if regulatory policies were clearer, up from 48% in November 2023.

The vast majority of respondents (79%) believe that political leaders should work to build a framework and rules that promote financial inclusion and protect the rights of investors.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has recently shown a pro-cryptocurrency stance. According to reports, Trump asked David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and a cryptocurrency consultant on his campaign team, whether Bitcoin has the potential to help solve issues such as the U.S. national debt.

Conclusion:

Grayscale's survey reveals the growing importance of cryptocurrency among American voters, not only as an investment option, but also as part of the political agenda. As voters' awareness and interest in cryptocurrency grow, as well as their desire for regulatory clarity, cryptocurrency is likely to become a core topic of political and economic discussions in the future.

At the same time, the positive attitude of politicians such as Trump towards cryptocurrencies may indicate more attention and support for this emerging asset class in policy making.

I believe that in the future, as financial technology and policies continue to develop, the status and role of cryptocurrency in American society will become increasingly important. #Grayscale #加密货币 #投资组合 #美国选民
