Binance has launched a Japan-based arm, Binance Japan, offering spot trading for 34 tokens as of Aug. 1. The move comes after receiving a warning from Japan's financial regulator in 2021. Binance plans to migrate global users starting on Aug. 14. The exchange's interest in the Japanese digital-asset market led to the acquisition of Sakura Exchange Bitcoin in November 2022. Meanwhile, other crypto exchanges like Kraken and Coinbase announced their intention to close operations in Japan due to market conditions.
