😱🫨Lost Bitcoin Wallet Password Recovered Ten Years Later

The password to the wallet storing 43.6 Bitcoins was finally recovered ten years after it was lost. These Bitcoins were purchased in 2013 and are worth about $3 million at today's prices. The password was revealed by two hackers who specialize in this field.

After the encrypted file was corrupted, he could not access the Bitcoins. A man whose identity is kept secret and goes by the alias Michael set up his wallet in 2013 and created a password using the RoboForm platform.

Due to security concerns, Michael did not want to store the password he created in RoboForm, so he saved it in an encrypted file.

After a while, the encrypted file was corrupted and the owner could not access the 20-character password, and therefore the 43.6 Bitcoins in the wallet.

According to a video posted on YouTube, Michael contacted a hacker named Joe Grande in 2022 for help. Grande was previously known for recovering lost Bitcoin from a Trezor Tue wallet.

They tried numerous times until they found the correct password

Grande began working with a friend named Bruno to try to crack RoboForm's software.

They discovered a vulnerability in the software's password generator. The password was allegedly set based on a certain date and time on the computer when the password was created. Although the company fixed the vulnerability in 2015, previously created passwords could still be accessed in this way. Although Michael could not remember when he created the password, the hackers found that the Bitcoin was transferred to the wallet on April 13, 2013. Subsequently, they tried a large number of passwords until they found the correct password.

Grande and Bruno, who successfully opened the wallet, took some of Michael's Bitcoin. Michael also sold some of it himself, but still has $2 million worth of Bitcoin.
