⚠️Telegram Wallet implements new KYC rules and changes providers
Before the KYC change, some Telegram wallet users could use the default version of the wallet without providing any personal information. The new version requires real-name KYC. Seeing this step, the editor quietly withdrew 😅
Will you use your TG wallet with real name?
Wallet's announcement stated: "Starting June 3, all functions except withdrawals will require updated account details."
The next tier is the "extended" version, which requires users to provide national identification to unlock transactions of up to 100,000 euros (108,000 US dollars) per day and 1 million euros (1.08 million US dollars) per month.
Users who want higher limits need to provide their residential address to unlock the "premium" version, which will remove the upper limit on the total amount of funds that can be transferred.
At the same time, Telegram's Wallet also announced that its services will be provided by another company. The Wallet service will be provided by WOT Global Solution (formerly First Stage Labs), a subsidiary of The Open Platform (TOP).
What kind of chess do you think TG is playing?
