According to the April 2024 online survey conducted by Cifras y Conceptos for Worldcoin:
71% of the 1,100 people surveyed are concerned about an increase in fraud and misinformation due to more persuasive online bots. 63% are concerned that AI models will make it more difficult to distinguish between content created by people and bots. 68% consider mechanisms to distinguish bots from people on the Internet important. 80% agree that tech companies should develop new technologies to verify humanity online. 70% have already used technologies that require biometric information.
These findings are supported by recent surveys in Peru and Mexico, which showed growing support for proof-of-humanity technologies in Latin America.
