The Date of the New Update in Ethereum Has Been Announced

The date of the Pectra update in Ethereum, the largest altcoin, has been announced.

Ethereum developers held a meeting and announced that they plan to implement the Pectra update in the first quarter of 2025.

The previous Dencun update in Ethereum was made in March 2023.

The Pectra update, which contains approximately 11 items, aims to improve the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) at both Layer 1 and Layer 2 levels.

EIP-7251 will also be included in the update. Thus, individual validators will be able to stake up to 2,048 ETH, unlike the current maximum limit of 32 ETH.

In addition, Ethereum developers decided to include EIP-7702, suggested by Vitalik Buterin, in the update. Under EIP-7702, a new transaction type will be created that allows addresses in Ethereum to temporarily function as a smart contract wallet.
