Odaily Planet Daily News: Bloomberg previously disclosed that Hong Kong is considering allowing exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that directly invest in Ethereum to be pledged. Sources revealed that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and virtual asset ETF issuers are discussing staking through licensed platforms. It is reported that the relevant consultations are ongoing and there is no clear timetable, but a spokesperson for the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has said that it will not comment on the matter. Market insiders pointed out that after the Ethereum ETF adds the staking function, it will become an interest-bearing asset, which will be a milestone. If approved, the staking yield is expected to further increase the demand for Hong Kong spot virtual currency ETFs. (Hong Kong Wen Wei Po)
