What is USDT?
USDT is a cryptocurrency, whose full name is Tether. It is a stablecoin issued by Tether Limited. Its value is anchored or pegged to the US dollar (USD), with the goal of maintaining a fixed exchange rate of 1:1 with the US dollar, making its value relatively stable. USDT is commonly used as a trading medium and store of value in the cryptocurrency market, especially on digital currency exchanges, where it is widely used for settlement of trading pairs and rapid transfer of funds. Because USDT is pegged to the US dollar, it is widely accepted and used globally, but does not have the status of legal tender itself. Fiat currency is a currency issued and mandated by a national government, while USDT is a digital token issued by a private company.
