European Union Establishes New Organization to Implement Blockchain Infrastructure

The European Union (EU) on Tuesday launched a new organization aimed at promoting blockchain infrastructure and improving record-keeping and data transfer among its 27 member states, according to Odaily. This development occurred at the European Council Telecommunications Ministers meeting in Brussels, where MPs also approved a landmark artificial intelligence law.

Mathieu Michel, Belgium's Minister of State for Digitalization, stated that blockchain infrastructure will affect individuals and companies. Michel pioneered the blockchain project managed by EU countries, which he called 'Europeum'. At a press conference he announced: 'Europeum will feature tangibly in the daily lives of European citizens.' He added that this would allow citizens to trace the origins of their products and allow businesses to protect their intellectual property by keeping data on the immutable blockchain network$BTC $BNB $ETH
