🔔 Bitcoin spot ETFs came onto the scene in the United States earlier this year and got a lot of attention from investors right away.
Last week, over 600 financial institutions filed Form 13Fs with the SEC, reporting their investments in the instrument. A total of 563 management companies reported owning profiled shares, which added up to more than $3.5 billion.
🫱 Some of the big names in the industry included Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, UBS, BNP Paribas and Royal Bank of Canada. Hedge funds Millennium Management and Schonfeld Strategic Advisors also shared their investment details.
🟢Millennium Management was the biggest investor in the bitcoin ETF. The company's current portfolio is estimated at $1.9 billion. About $844 mln was invested in IBIT fund, the issuer of which was BlackRock. Another $806 million went to FBTC from Fidelity.
🟢Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, which manages more than $13 billion, came in second. The company put about $479 million into spot bitcoin ETFs.
