The second Cartesi Experiments Week is here!

The Cartesi Foundation will once again be hosting a week-long online hackathon for funders and the wider community to highlight Cartesi and explore experiments, applications, and more based on all the awesome things we’ve been building.


The official communication channel for this event will be the #experiment-week channel, please feel free to use this channel to discuss ideas, find teammates, and ask questions.

Dates, duration and other events

Start date: June 10, 2024

The Cartesi Experimentation Week will kick off with a community call from the Cartesi Foundation on June 10, 2024 at 13:00 UTC in the Cartesi Discord community channel.

End date: June 16, 2024

All submissions must be received by 16:00 UTC on June 16, 2024 to be considered valid. Even if an idea or project does not succeed, submissions are encouraged, explaining insights gained or problems encountered.

Community Showcase: June 17, 2024

All submissions will be presented in a short community presentation (5 minutes) on the Cartesi Discord community at 13:00 UTC on June 17, 2024.

What can you build?

  • Applications and Use Cases

  • User Experience/Convenience Tools

  • Integration with other projects (strongly encouraged)

  • Any Cartesi-centric concept!

This is an opportunity for everyone to channel their creative energy into individual or team projects, focusing on generating novel dApp ideas, building impactful use cases, designing innovative tools, or simply implementing any Cartesi-centric concepts they’ve been thinking about.

In the coming days and weeks, the #experiment-week channel will share interesting integration possibilities.

Prize setting:

🥇 First place: $3,000 equivalent CTSI

🥈 Second place: $2,000 CTSI

🥉 Third place: $1,000 CTSI

Other prizes may be offered at the discretion of the Cartesi Foundation.

Non-sponsor recipients of prizes are required to undergo identity verification (KYC).

Rules and Guidelines

Participants must submit their email, name, project name, a short description of the project, and the presentation that will be used for the community showcase. If applicable, you can also include a link to the project's GitHub repository.

You are free to be creative, but your submitted project must be related to Cartesi technology.

It’s important to emphasize that the focus of this hackathon is collaboration, not competition. We sincerely hope and expect everyone to cooperate, help and improve each other. Remember, the goal is not necessarily to solve the hardest problem, but to solve the most impactful problem. Often, the most significant changes come from simple solutions. Let’s work smart and really make an impact!

A short 5-minute presentation will be made in a recorded community call on the Cartesi Discord community at 13:00 UTC on June 17, 2024. The format of the presentation is yours, and a demo of your project is highly desirable!

Judging Criteria

The evaluation criteria are mainly based on the following aspects:

  • Technicality: How impactful or important is the problem the project is trying to solve? How does the solution solve it?

  • Originality: How original is the project?

  • Practicality: How practical is the project?

  • Usability (UI/UX/DX): Is the project easy to use? Can it be improved to remove friction for users?

  • WOW Factor and Community Impact: How much impact does the project have on Cartesi and the broader blockchain ecosystem?

Submissions will be judged for prizes by the following panel:
