đ„El Salvador has managed to mine about 474 BTC since 2021.
El Salvador has mined 474,#BTC since 2021, thanks to its #MinerĂa farm powered by geothermal energy, official data revealed on Tuesday.
These 474 BTC are equivalent to a total value of $29 million dollars at current prices, and these began to be mined in September 2021, exactly on the date that #ElSalvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender.
In order to mine these BTC, geothermal energy from the Tecapa volcano was used, through a plant installed at the Berlin Geothermal Power Plant, equipped with 300 ASIC devices.
So far these 474 BTC have not been sold, so El Salvador accumulates 5,752 BTC in total within its coffers, according to @Arkham Intelligence. It is also known that the government of El Salvador is the only one that can use geothermal energy.
