$BTC - Casey has launched a new, more efficient homogeneous token protocol, the Runes protocol. The Runes protocol cleverly uses Bitcoin's unique UTXO model to carry homogeneous tokens (Runes tokens) with piles of satoshis. It is independent of Ordinals, inscriptions, and BRC-20 tokens, and is in direct competition with BRC-20 tokens. It is more efficient than it and alleviates the problem of state expansion.
- The character limit of Runes names also brings a lot of imagination and naming innovation (starting from 13-26 characters, and gradually releasing the lower limit of the number of characters as the block height increases). If the lower limit of 3-6 characters is unlocked during the bear market, people may have the opportunity to etch very high-quality names.
